Range Rover has unveiled its inaugural all-electric SUV in the UK, with a starting price of £154,070. Customers can now place orders, and the first deliveries are projected for 2027. This marks a significant milestone for the brand as it transitions towards electric mobility.
The Range Rover Electric will be produced at the Jaguar Land Rover plant in Solihull, UK, underscoring the company’s commitment to electric vehicle manufacturing. This luxury SUV is equipped with dual electric motors that deliver up to 550PS and 850Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds. The vehicle boasts an estimated driving range of up to 372 miles according to the WLTP testing cycle.
The vehicle’s 118.5kWh battery is compatible with 800-volt charging technology, enabling rapid charging from 10% to 80% in approximately 22 minutes under optimal conditions. The design of the Range Rover Electric maintains the brand’s classic luxury and off-road prowess while integrating an electric powertrain and enhanced aerodynamic elements. Notably, it can navigate water depths of up to 900mm.
Extensive development and testing have gone into the creation of the Range Rover Electric. Jaguar Land Rover’s Wolverhampton facility will play a key role in its production by supplying battery packs and electric drive units. This support structure is crucial for the seamless manufacturing and deployment of the new electric model.
